A QUICK WORD FROM BEN HIMSELF

Firstly I would like to thank you in advance, for all your help & generosity for my charity fundraising night on 31st Jan 2008 that Kim is organising for me. I thought I would let you know what its actually for & how it is going to help. I have a rare type of brain tumour, which sits on the main artery in my brain. It is a type of liquid tumour & I have been told that it will burst at some point causing either a major stroke or death (this could happen at any moment) & as I am still only 30 this is very worrying! At present there is no treatment in the UK (all the Dr's can do is try to treat the symptoms) however there are a couple of treatments available in Canada & the U.S. The treatment works by extracting the liquid & therefore takes away the risk of it bursting. The treatment costs are in excess of £ 26,000 so as you can imagine I am doing all I can to raise the money & I am very lucky to have some very kind, lovely friends who are doing all they can to help me too. JOHN-LUKE KITCHEN COMPONENTS

 in Enfield are at present working hard to raise money for Ben and we have been touched by the kind response of our customers to Ben's plight, Our Granddaughter ( Who started our campaign ) is buying materials out of her own 14 year old pocket and producing high quality hand made Xmas cards which are being sold in the shop and every penny taken ( not just proceeds ) is being put into Ben's fund, it was her that gave us the idea to start collecting at work. 

An elderly couple came in the other day and bought a hinge and a discontinued handle which I charged them £2 for, they gave me £5 and said put the rest into Ben's box, We thought that very charitable of them, they are among dozens who do something similar every day.
